Yes, the bylaw is that no more than 4 months per annum occupancy is allowed but the Nkomasi Municipality don't really know what to do with applications for permanent residency. Thanks 1 Answer : Hi, we had the same thought when we bought in Marloth 2 years ago, build a log cabin on stilts, after talking to our estate agent she was nice enough to tell us that it is not a good idea as because of the harsh sun maintenance becomes more frequent , the other issue they mentioned was you can't get a bond on a log cabin, doing further investigation log cabins were expensive (R120000 upwards when we priced it excl installation) in the end we opted to build a face brick house. 2 Answer : Currently busy building timber frame house on stilts.
